The insurance license of Zane Amy was revoked following an investigation by the Idaho Department of Insurance that showed he altered documents to get his clients premium discounts.
Ae was sentenced for insurance fraud, a felony in Idaho.
An audit by Farmers Insurance revealed that Amy had submitted false or altered documents so that his customers would receive premium discounts for which they did not qualify. He modified information to secure good student and other discounts.
Overall, Amy’s actions had a financial impact of over $6,000 to Farmers. Customers were unaware of the modifications, according to the department.
On Aug. 8 Amy was sentenced on one count of insurance fraud and ordered to serve thirty days in jail. He was also ordered to perform 50 hours of community service, pay a $2,500 fine plus court costs, and pay restitution to Farmers. He was granted a withheld judgment and placed on felony supervised probation for three years.
