Berkley Promotes Enright as President of Berkley Specialty London, Succeeding Hastings
W. R. Berkley announced the appointment of John Enright as president of Berkley Specialty London and chief executive officer of W. R. Berkley Syndicate Management Ltd., the Lloyd’s managing agent for W. R. Berkley Syndicate 1967, effective July 1, 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
He succeeds James Hastings, who will continue to serve in a corporate role at Berkley and support the transition.

Enright has nearly 20 years of experience in the insurance industry across strategy, operations, finance, and technology with a particular focus on the London and international markets. Most recently, he served as Berkley Specialty London’s chief operating officer.
“John is a proven executive with deep expertise in the London and international markets, who is well-suited to lead the talented team at Berkley Specialty London,” commented W. Robert Berkley Jr., chairman, president and chief executive officer of W. R. Berkley Corp.
“We are fortunate to have him step into the role of president. James has done a tremendous job in moving the business forward over the last five years, and we are pleased that he will continue to share his talent and expertise with the broader group,” he added.

Ariel Re Promotes Shreeve as Chief Commercial Officer
Ariel Re, the Bermuda-based re/insurer, has appointed Tim Shreeve as chief commercial officer (CCO).
In this role, Shreeve will focus on identifying and advancing opportunities for growth across the business. Working closely with clients, brokers and colleagues, he will help evaluate emerging opportunities, assess their strategic and commercial potential, and support the development of new initiatives.

Shreeve, who is based in Bermuda, joined Ariel Re in 2021 as head of Platform Development and has played an important role in supporting the company’s strategic development.
“Tim has made a significant contribution to Ariel Re’s success since joining the business. His promotion reflects his leadership, commercial insight and the value he brings to the organization,” according to Ryan Mather, chief executive officer of Ariel Re.
Ariel Re has offices in Bermuda, London, and Hong Kong, serving clients globally through its Lloyd’s platforms: Syndicates 1910 and 2006 and with access to Lloyd’s Europe.
