Jim Newberry, assistant vice president and risk control manager of Honolulu, Hawaii-based Island Insurance, has been named risk management and insurance practice specialty administrator of the American Society of Safety Engineers’ Practice Specialty Leadership Group for 2011-2012.
Newberry is the first person from Hawaii to be named to a national post of ASSE.
ASSE is comprised of over 34,000 occupational safety, health and environmental professional members from across the U.S. Practice specialty leadership administrators serve as resource experts in their respective specialties.
Newberry has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry.
