The risk of wildfires spreading remains high in parts of Wyoming because of hot, dry weather.
Firefighters aided by helicopters and tankers are battling a grass and brush fire in Albany County that has scorched 1,000 acres about 20 miles southwest of Wheatland.
Burnout operations were done Wednesday to protect buildings on one ranch in the area.
No structures have been lost so far.
Red flag warnings were posted Thursday for most of the southern half of the state.
Another fire has started in Teton County near the Teton Science School. That has burned about 200 acres but no structures are threatened.
More than half a dozen other fires continue to burn in remote areas of northwest Wyoming.
