The Nevada Division of Insurance has approved an overall rate decrease of 6.7 percent for physicians and medical professionals insured by

“Our claims experience in Nevada has been exceptional,” noted Jeff Weigl, chief underwriting officer at Medicus. “This overall reduction in our rates varies by specialty, but recognizes that Nevada’s adopted tort reform is having the impact physicians hoped for when it was passed in 2004. We acknowledge the positive trends in Nevada, and are passing the savings on to our insureds.”

In addition to positive claims experience, a solid financial standing and diversity of risk have made it possible for Medicus to offer rate reductions across the board, the company said.
