A Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, man who said his hand was permanently injured when his gun exploded is suing a rifle-making company, a bullet manufacturer and Wal-Mart.
James Monette filed the lawsuit against rifle-maker Mossberg Corp., Wal-Mart and bullet manufacturer Remington Arms Company in 1st District Court Oct. 21, claiming that his rifle misfired and exploded, sending parts and fragments into his hand.
Monette is asking for damages in excess of $10,000, to be proven in court.
A Wal-Mart representative told the Coeur d’Alene Press that the company had no comment because it had not yet reviewed the lawsuit. Officials with the other companies could not be immediately reached.
