The Insurance Council of Texas (ICT) announced it awarded five University of North Texas students $500 scholarships for their good grades and interest in insurance-related studies. The insurance trade association said this was the second semester in a row that ICT has awarded UNT students $2,500 in scholarships.
The scholarship recipients were Brenda Gillar of Carrolton, Toni Hisoler and Monica Kohandani of Denton, Martha Montoya of Gainesville and Sharanda Phillips of Dallas.
The scholarships were handed out by Mark Hanna, manager of public relations at ICT, in a brief ceremony at the UNT School of Business Administration.
“These students were awarded for their hard work and interest in furthering their career in the field of insurance,” Hanna said. “The University of North Texas is only one of three schools that we recognize as a leader in preparing students for the insurance industry.”
The Insurance Council of Texas is committed to helping students in higher education learn more of the intricacies of insurance through the financial assistance of scholarships such as these.
