Watercolor Management, an Alabama-based managing general underwriter, will open new property underwriting facilities for water treatment businesses through an agreement with a new surplus lines carrier.
The agreement grants Watercolor Management nationwide MGA authority with in-house rating and underwriting. The new capacity is designed for businesses in the private sector that are involved in water treatment.
WaterColor Management is licensed to write business on a nationwide basis, and has underwriting agreements with an A++ XV carrier to underwrite liability coverage for the water treatment industry.
According to John Walsh, chairman of the agency, Watercolor Management’s coverage combines multiple coverages in one occurrence-form policy including general liability, products and completed operations, professional liability and pollution liability.
WaterColor’s clients include national and local water treatment service companies, water chemical manufacturers and distributors, as well as septic system installation and management companies.
Its customers apply biocides, scale inhibitors and corrosion preventatives to air-conditioning cooling towers; boilers and other water-regulated heat transfer mechanisms; and to irrigation systems. The agency also covers businesses offering water filtration and water softening programs.
