Insurance distribution technology vendor Vertafore has appointed Mark Sonders as senior vice president of sales and client services. Reporting directly to the CEO, Sonders will have responsibility for sales, marketing and client support in a newly-integrated organization serving the agency, carrier and managing general agency markets.
Sonders joins Vertafore from Thomson Reuters, where he was managing director, head of direct sales, Americas.
The new unified structure, with one executive overseeing customer experience across all market segments, replaces one in which business units were segregated.
Under the new model, Vertafore said it will be eliminating the roles of president of agency markets and president of carrier and MGA markets.
Matt McKernan, president of carrier and MGA markets, will be leaving the company in the coming weeks to pursue other opportunities.
Additionally, Bill Bunker, president of agency markets, will assume an interim role for a brief period to assist in the transition of Vertafore customer services to a single organization before moving on to pursue other opportunities.
Vertafore is based in Bothell, Washington.
