Miller Insurance Services announced that non-marine casualty reinsurance production and placement specialist Ian Wicks has joined its reinsurance team in London.
James Geffen, Head of Reinsurance and Board Member at Miller noted that Wicks “has been a leading casualty reinsurance producer for over three decades. He fully understands the marketplace and is highly regarded within the reinsurance community.”
Wicks has over 35 years’ experience of working with non-marine casualty reinsurance, primarily as a production and placement specialist and also as an underwriter. Previously at JLT Re, he has joined Miller to help develop its non-marine casualty reinsurance book and support the growth strategy of its reinsurance business as a whole.
He began his career with Fenchurch Reinsurance brokers and has also worked for Winchester Bowring where he was a member of the Board. In 1988 he co-founded independent insurance brokerage Harman Wicks & Swayne Ltd., and was the Managing Director of the business in 2008 when it was sold to JLT, who appointed Wicks as Head of Casualty within the Non-Marine Treaty Reinsurance team and elected him to the Executive Committee of JLT Re.
