New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has a message for families planning trips to amusement parks this summer: avoid horseplay, and keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times.
The Democratic governor announced a series of recommendations on June 6 designed to ensure amusement park visitors stay safe.
Among Cuomo’s tips: make sure to properly secure children on rides, observe height and weight restrictions, and don’t force a child to get on a ride that frightens them.
Cuomo also advises people to use caution at water parks and to always slide down water slides feet first.
