Officials say they are investigating similarities between arsons in two Cape Cod towns where someone left messages condemning wealthy people.
Barnstable police Det. John York says someone spray-painted “(expletive) the rich” on a fence at a house where incendiary devices were left on Dec. 2.
The devices burned out before fully setting the home on fire.
York says a similar message was left at the scene of a Nov. 24 fire that engulfed an unoccupied home under construction in Sandwich.
No injuries were reported in either incident. Officials are encouraging anyone with information to call a 24-hour confidential state arson hotline at 800-682-9229.
