An assistant vice president of fraud investigation and protection at Empire Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s Times Square offices allegedly shot two colleagues to death before killing himself Sept. 16.

The New York Times reports that John Harrison, a former F.B.I. agent, summoned Isabel Munoz鈥攚ith whom he had allegedly been romantically involved until very recently鈥攁nd Vincent LaBianca into his 11th floor office at 8:20 a.m. Monday, and shot both of them repeatedly using two handguns before killing himself.

Investigators believe Harrison’s anger at Munoz for reportedly ending their relationship was the most likely cause for the killings.

Two weeks ago, Harrison reportedly left his wife and their home in New Jersey to an apartment in an apparent attempt to keep seeing Munoz. She reportedly ended their relationship shortly thereafter.

According to co-workers, Munoz and LaBianca got along well at work, but it could not be confirmed whether they had been involved in any way outside the office.

Empire Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s offices were previously located in the World Trade Center; both Harrison and Munoz escaped the north tower after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
