Matthew Zender of AmTrust North America, who has served on the executive committee of the California Workers’ Compensation Institute since 2018, has been reelected to serve another one-year term as chairman of the CWCI’s board of directors.
Joining Zender on CWCI’s 2021 executive committee will be Sharon Thaler of AIG, who will serve as vice chair of the board; Eric Belk, Travelers; Martin Brady of Schools Insurance Authority, an associate member; Eric Hansen, Preferred Employers Insurance; Kris Mathis, CopperPoint Insurance Companies; and Vernon Steiner, State Compensation Insurance Fund.
Also elected to CWCI’s 2021 board of directors were Paul Ziegler, Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty; Tom McClure, AXA/XL; Russ Selinger, Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies; Mary Beth Pittinger, Chubb Ltd.; Dave McGowan, CompWest Insurance; Dwight Robertson, M.D., Employers Insurance Group; Joseph Wells, Everest Insurance; Carolyn Turpin, Liberty Mutual Insurance; Justin Smith, North American Casualty Company; Scott Lange, Sentry; Carmen Sharp, The Hanover Insurance Group; Michael Cunningham, Zenith Insurance Company; and Kevin Confetti, University of California, an associate member.
The CWCI is a private, nonprofit association. CWCI members include 26 insurer groups, as well as 33 of the largest public and private self-insured employers in the state.
