‘Office Of Cannabis’ OK’d by San Francisco Supervisors

San Francisco officials have approved a new Office of Cannabis in advance of recreational marijuana sales starting in California next year.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the Board of Supervisors also directed the new office to analyze disparities that keep certain minority groups out of the cannabis business.

Its other task is to make recommendations on how to keep medical marijuana affordable

Board President London Breed suggested San Francisco follow in the steps of Oakland, California, where lawmakers established a cannabis equity program this year.

The program sets aside half of business licenses to city residents who have been arrested on a cannabis crime or who live in neighborhoods with historically high numbers of marijuana arrests.

Nancy, your sarcastic comment on where to begin is pretty fitting. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. It sounds like you’ve lived quite the privileged life based off the fact you can’t deal with other human beings on the sidewalk. You have no idea what their circumstances were before and to generalize an entire city is pretty baseless. I suggest volunteering at local food bank or soup kitchen to get some positive viewpoints on the homeless and to take a harder look at yourself as an individual.

Recreational marijuana has been proven to drive state and local economies, increase funding for schools, and lower the overall crime rate. Instead of pursuing these proven benefits, CA has been stuck with dated policies based off racist and corporate backed lobbyist ideals dating back to Nixon. We glamorize alcohol, tobacco, and opioids but condemn a plant. Ironic that all 3 industries that stand to lose the most money are the 3 industries spending millions on capitol hill to push their corporate agendas.

Also worth mentioning, driving while under the influence of cannabis has been proven to have little to no impact on a drivers ability to operate a vehicle. Then again, everyone should be smart enough not to drive under the influence of any substance regardless of what it is. I would suggest you compare the number of alcohol and opioid vehicle related fatalities versus those of cannabis vehicle related fatalities and come back with your findings. It might feel like they are synonymous, but I assure you they are not. Feelings are not facts.

TLDR – Nancy has no idea what she is talking about.
