A Eugene, Ore. woman who sued her adopted parents after disclosing that her father sexually abused her has agreed to settle the civil case.
The Register-Guard reports that according to documents filed in Lane County Circuit Court last week the case has been settled, though details of the agreement are confidential.
The victim sued her adopted father, Rick Jackson, in January, one month after he was arrested on child sexual abuse charges. The 61-year-old insurance agent and former church pastor pleaded guilty in April and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. Before his arrest, Jackson ran a Farmers office.
After his arrest, the victim’s father divorced his wife and transferred his then-ex-wife his interest in real estate properties with a combined value of about $1.5 million.
The victim claimed the property transfer was done to defraud her.
