A new report out of New Mexico says nearly 200 state employees have had their state vehicle driving privileges revoked.

The Santa Fe New Mexican reported the General Services Department says 191 state workers had their privileges suspended from July 1 to April 23.

Reasons ranged from driving with revoked licenses to drunken-driving arrests. Other reasons included having expired defensive driving certificates and failing to provide a current certificate during an audit.

The agencies with the most workers whose privileges revoked were the Department of Health with 43, the Taxation and Revenue Department with 34 and the Human Services Department with 32.

State policy allows an employee to ask permission to give rides in a state vehicle to unauthorized people, but only for state business.
