Roosevelt County officials are assessing the damage done by a tornado that touched down about 20 miles north of Poplar, Mont.
Emergency services coordinator Dan Sietsema says at least two farm sites were hit by the tornado Monday afternoon, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages. No injuries were reported.
National Weather Service forecaster Rich Maliawco says agency personnel were visiting the site Tuesday to gauge the tornado’s toll and determine its exact path. Maliawco says better weather conditions were expected to prevail through the day with cooler temperatures in the forecast.
