San Francisco is suing three gun accessories companies and one gun show promoter for selling disassembled high-capacity magazines disguised as gun magazine repair kits in violation of California law.
The lawsuit was announced by City Attorney Dennis Herrera in a statement Monday.
A city attorney’s statement says the repair kits can easily be assembled into high-capacity magazines like those used in recent mass shootings in Connecticut and Colorado. The state has a ban on selling new high-capacity magazines.
Herrera said the companies named in the suit sold the magazines online. The companies are Oregon-based 44Mag Distributing, Texas-based Exile Machine and Ohio-based Copes Distributing. Herrera also sued Utah-based gun show promotion firm B & L Productions.
