Heffernan Insurance Brokers named Jennifer Mahoney chief operating officer.

As COO, Mahoney will oversee corporate governance, contracts, property and facilities management, mergers & acquisitions, corporate communications, philanthropy and wellness and internet strategy.

Mahoney has been with Heffernan for seven years in various operations of the group, most recently as vice president, office of the CEO, where she was involved in the planning and execution of the company’s continuing expansion. In addition to her new role, Mahoney will continue to execute special projects as needed.

Walnut Creek, Calif.-based Heffernan has California offices in San Francisco, Petaluma, Palo Alto, Los Angeles and Orange County, as well as in Portland, Ore., St. Louis, M. and New York, N.Y.
