A worker died in an oven on Thursday at a Southern California plant that produces Bumble Bee tuna.
Jose Melena, 62, was cooked to death in a steam oven at the Bumble Bee Foods processing plant in Santa Fe Springs, Calif. Erika Monterroza, a spokeswoman for the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, .
The canning facility has been shut down until at least Monday.
The Whittier Daily News reported Melena was found shortly before 7 a.m. at the plant, and Monterroza has said it’s unclear how he ended up in the oven. The agency has launched an investigation she said.
