Rains have brought some moisture, and relief, and the fire season is over in Oregon’s Jackson and Josephine counties.
Brian Ballou, spokesman for the Oregon Department of Forestry’s Southwest Oregon District, says the potential for a grass fire still exists, but the rain and cooler temperatures brought the season to an end effective Wednesday.
The U.S. National Weather Service says the counties can expect rain off and on through Monday. Meanwhile, 4 inches of wet snow was reported on the ground at the Crater Lake National Park headquarters late Tuesday afternoon.
