An insurance agent and prominent supporter of public schools in the northern Idaho city of Coeur d’Alene has been charged with felony cocaine possession.
Idaho State Police say Jerry Carlson could face more charges as part of an ongoing investigation in Kootenai County.
Carlson was arrested on suspicion of cocaine possession after police raided a storage facility behind his office in Coeur d’Alene and seized 5 grams of the drug.
Carlson appeared in court and was charged with possession of a controlled substance after police say they found a small amount of cocaine in his pocket. He was released from jail on a $10,000 bond.
Carlson graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1980. The school named him booster of the year for 2006-2007.
Idaho State Police Lt. Curtis Kastens says the investigation may lead to more arrests.
