San Diego-based HNC Software Inc., a provider of Customer Insight software, has acquired the workers’ compensation compliance reporting products and related customer base of ecDataFlow.com Inc. The agreement is HNC’s third acquisition of insurance EDI/Network Connectivity products in the past 14 months. In April 2000, the company purchased Celerity Technologies Inc. from the Frank Gates Companies, and in April 2001, HNC Software acquired ClaimPort Inc.
“HNC will continue to commit capital and enhance its Customer Insight products through both internal development and key product and company acquisitions,” stated John Mutch, CEO of HNC Software.
Through this product acquisition, HNC obtained OASISâ„¢, a client/server EDI connectivity program for transmitting injury reports, medical bills and insurance claims, and NIIDSâ„¢, an ASP-based connectivity solution, which integrates with OASIS.
HNC also acquired ecDataFlow.com’s OASIS and NIIDS customer base. ecDataFlow.com will continue to provide software maintenance and customer support for these two products for an interim period, to ensure that current customers can function without any operational changes.
“ecDataFlow.com will continue to focus its efforts on developing innovative property and casualty insurance products that enable insurance companies to operate more effectively,” stated Steve Isaac, CEO of ecDataFlow.com.
