Regions Insurance, a subsidiary of Birmingham, Alabama-based Regions Financial Corp., is expanding its employee benefits practice in Memphis, Tennessee, with the acquisition of Argyle Benefits Consultants LLC.

Argyle partners Philip Johnson, Tom Merriam and Chris Rogers — along with their four associates — will join the Memphis office of Regions Insurance.

They will continue their group employee benefits practice serving commercial clients, with a focus on benefit program assessment, plan design, program implementation and management.

This expansion is the second addition to Regions Insurance during the fourth quarter of 2012. In November, Regions Insurance opened its first office in Atlanta. The office serves clients throughout the state, with 10 associates with expertise in transportation, contracting and manufacturing, and employee benefits.

Regions Insurance is ranked among the top 25 U.S. insurance brokers and is the fifth-largest insurance brokerage based in the Southeast. Regions Insurance offers comprehensive insurance and risk management services for businesses and individuals through more than 500 insurance professionals located in 16 states.
