A man awaiting trial in a federal child-pornography case has filed a lawsuit alleging he was harassed by the police department in Biloxi, Mississippi.
A lawsuit filed this week for 49-year-old Harry Gonsoulin Jr., of Biloxi, alleges police searched his home and business without warrants Nov. 30, 2009, and Dec. 15, 2009.
A Sun Herald search of records in the federal case found copies of search warrants obtained by Biloxi police Nov. 23, 2009, and Dec. 14, 2009, both in advance of searches at Gonsoulin’s property.
The lawsuit, filed in Harrison County Circuit Court, seeks not less than $10 million in compensation.
Police Chief John Miller said if police made any mistakes, they were small ones that don’t affect the facts.
