Mississippi Approves Alfa Auto Insurance Rate Decrease

Mississippi Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney says Alfa Insurance customers are about to pay less for their automobile coverage.

Chaney has approved Alfa’s plan to decrease auto rates by as much as 2.1 percent, starting Dec. 28.

Chaney also approved Alfa’s plan to give larger discounts to longtime Mississippi policy holders. Those who have been Alfa customers for at least three years will be eligible for a 15 percent discount, and those who are customers for at least six years can get a 20 percent discount.

According to a release from Chaney’s office, Alfa Insurance company estimates the reduced rates could save Mississippi consumers nearly $1 million a year.
