In Charleston, W. Va., Kanawha County’s insurer has settled a wrongful-termination lawsuit filed by three former investigators who were fired by former Prosecutor Bill Charnock.
St. Paul Travelers agreed Monday to pay $50,000 each to David Keeney, Harold Summers Jr. and Roscoe Tucker. The settlement also allows the plaintiffs to seek jobs with the county.
The plaintiffs had alleged that Charnock improperly fired them for political reasons after taking office in January 2005.
Johnnie Brown, an attorney for Charnock and the Kanawha County Commission, said there was no admission of liability or reinstatement.
