Weather officials have confirmed a tornado touched down and caused damage last week in south central Kentucky.
A storm survey team with the National Weather Service rated the tornado an EF-1, with maximum wind speeds of 100 miles per hour. It struck about three miles southwest of Park City, Ky., in Barren County on Jan 10.
No one was injured, but the storms left a path of debris in Barren and surrounding counties, knocking over trees and damaging buildings and causing about a half-million dollars in damage.
The weather service says the tornado touched down just after 3 p.m. EST and traveled about three miles.
