In the aftermath of Hurricane Dennis, Pensacola, Fla. gasoline station owners and employees are pleading with suppliers to make more deliveries.
The gasoline shortage is due to area resident’s reaction to Hurricane Dennis, when the storm threatened the area, they filled up and evacuated. This weekend, any station with fuel left had long lines. Local supplies have dried up and aren’t expected to be delivered for several weeks.
Many gas stations owners had trash bags over their pumps, forcing some motorists to drive extra miles to fill up, and adding to the problem. Suppliers, in the meantime, estimated it could be as late as August 15th before gas supplies are replenished.
