Starwind Specialty Insurance Services, a CRC Group division, announced a series of leadership appointments within Starwind Marine and Energy that further strengthen its long-term strategy for growth and technical excellence across the marine and energy sectors.
The appointments took effect on January 1, 2026.
Building on the October launch of the Starwind Marine and Energy brand, these updates reflect the organization’s continued focus on unifying specialized talent, enhancing service delivery, and supporting clients navigating complex and evolving risk environments.
David Manion assumed the role of Chairman of the Starwind Marine division. In this position, he will provide strategic guidance, support cross-segment alignment, and help drive the division’s long-term growth and underwriting discipline. In addition, two key promotions underscore the depth of knowledge within the organization.
Alex Porter has been promoted to Head of Hull and Marine Liabilities, overseeing the segment previously operating as Blades Marine. Chester Rose has been promoted to Head of Cargo and Stock Throughput, leading the business formerly known as Southern Marine.
