Alera Group, a national insurance and wealth services firm, announced the acquisition of Austin, Texas-based Sheridan Insurance Group, a team of experienced professional liability specialists helping meet the insurance and risk management needs of the healthcare community.

The Sheridan Insurance Group exclusively serves the healthcare industry and focuses on professional liability insurance. Their core expertise is focused on serving the needs of individual physicians and surgeons, physician groups, locum tenen organizations, staffing companies, clinics, surgery centers, hospitals, and IPA’s (Independent Practice Association).

The Sheridan Insurance Group team will continue serving clients in their existing roles. The terms of the transaction were not announced.
