Louisiana extended the emergency rule that allows suspension of insurance related statutes in the 25 parishes affected by Hurricane Ida, the insurance department said.
The Louisiana Department of Insurance reported that Emergency Rule 47 is being reissued to extend the termination date of Sept. 27, 2021, through Oct. 24, 2021, unless terminated sooner.
Emergency Rule 47 provides for the suspension of certain statutes related to all kinds of insurance and all types of insurers doing business in Louisiana with policyholders in the 25 parishes affected by Hurricane Ida.
These suspensions cover cancellations, terminations, non-renewals and non-reinstatements, premium payments, claim filings and related provisions.
