January 22, 2014

The Arkansas Insurance Department issued a reminder that all individuals and entities intending to assist consumers with the purchase of health insurance policies through the Arkansas Health Insurance Marketplace or the Arkansas Private Option are required to be licensed to do so in the state.

Additionally, all agencies intending to collect commissions for insurance sold through the Marketplace need to be licensed for a Marketplace line of authority by Oct. 15, 2014.

Civil penalties could apply for failure to secure the appropriate license.
