The Mutual Service Office Inc. is introducing its 2011 farmowners program in Arkansas. The program is being used by a member company that has entered the state.
The farmowners program is a self-contained package-type policy that include property and liability coverages in the MSO format. It was designed to meet the needs of farmowners who reside on a farm with small farming operations on the covered premises.
MSO has filed its farmowners program in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland. An updated version will be filed in these and other states shortly.
A highlight of the updated program is the introduction of a new main policy form that covers the farm but excludes the dwelling. This is useful for farms insured separately from dwellings.
The MSO farmowners program includes some enhancements that may not be available in many commercial farm products. These include coverage for scheduled household personal property, valuable items, work interruption, watercraft liability and horse boarding.
The Glen Rock, N.J.-based company is the oldest continuously operating property/casualty rating service bureau and plans on making additional program available in a growing number of states.
