Swett & Crawford has opened an office in Houston, Texas, headed by Senior Vice President and Property Specialist John Konstantinidis.
Konstantinidis has relocated from Swett’s New York office to Houston.
Swett Executive Vice President Michael Ruhe cites Houston’s strong economy and Swett’s existing property business and relationships there with many retail brokers as the opportunity driver for this decision.
Konstantinidis explained that plans are in place to grow the office over the next year in the casualty and directors and officers lines of insurance, as well as property.
Underwriter Nick Losquardo is also staffing the new office.
Konstantinidis, an industry veteran with experience as both a retail and wholesale broker, began his P/C career with Johnson & Higgins. He later moved to Aon in New York as a broker in Aon’s large property division.
A New York native, he is a graduate of Pace University in International Marketing.
The new office is located at 800 Town and Country Boulevard, Suite 300, Houston, Texas 77024. Swett and Crawford subsidiary J.H. Blades, an oil and gas specialty wholesale brokerage, is also based in Houston.
