John M. Rindt, executive vice president of the Surety Division of JDW Insurance, an El Paso, Texas-based insurance agency, has been installed as the president of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP).
The NASBP is an international trade association in Washington, D.C., serving a membership of firms with personnel of over 5,000 surety agents and brokers.
Rindt brings more than 25 years of experience in the industry and with the Association, according to Mark H. McCallum, NASBP’s chief executive officer. “John’s experience as both an underwriter and an agent makes him impassioned about protecting the surety product and building trusting relationships among the surety partners and between NASBP and national construction trade associations,” he said.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Wis., Rindt began his career as field supervisor for St. Paul Surety in Milwaukee before becoming branch manager of St. Paul Surety in Lubbock, Texas. In 1985, Rindt joined JDW Insurance, a diversified property and casualty insurance agency founded in 1929. He has served on the producer advisory councils for CNA, Safeco and NAS.
Outside of NASBP and his career with JDW Insurance, Rindt continues his involvement in industry organizations, such as the Associated General Contractors El Paso Chapter AGC and the Texas Surety Federation. In 1994, the El Paso Small Business Administration recognized Rindt as Small Business Advocate of The Year.
