A Texas panel is expected to review a final report that clears fire officials of wrongdoing in their arson investigation that led to a man’s 2004 execution.
The Texas Forensic Science Commission is scheduled to meet Friday in Dallas.
A draft of the report says fire investigators did not commit professional negligence or misconduct in concluding that Cameron Todd Willingham set the fire that killed his three young children in 1992.
The Associated Press obtained a copy through an open records request.
Last year, the commission was set to review a report saying the arson investigation was faulty. But days before the meeting, Gov. Rick Perry removed three commission members. The meeting was canceled.
