Louisiana Medical Mutual Insurance Company (LAMMICO), which provides medical liability insurance for health care practitioners in Louisiana, announced it has funded scholarships for four students at medical schools in that state.
This is the eighth year LAMMICO has awarded merit scholarships to help defray tuition and other expenses associated with students enrolling at Tulane University, Louisiana State University (New Orleans & Shreveport) and the LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. Students who receive the award do so for one year.
Scholarship winners are: Philip G. Schmalz, a New Orleans native who will attend Tulane University Medical School; Jacob Alexander Lessing, from Slidell, attending LSU Medical School: New Orleans; Obialunamma Agubuzu, who was raised in Louisiana and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and will attend LSU School of Dentistry – New Orleans; and Kaylin Smith Watson of Bossier City, who will attend LSU Medical School – Shreveport.
