Two more counties were added April 7 to the state list of disaster areas from severe weather that has beset Arkansas.

Gov. Mike Beebe added Lonoke and Pike counties for damage sustained in last week’s severe weather. A total of 46 counties have disaster declarations due to storms and flooding since March 17.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency is still assessing damage from the recent storms and flooding to determine whether individual victims qualify for federal assistance.

Previously declared counties include Arkansas, Baxter, Benton, Boone, Carroll, Clay, Conway, Crawford, Craighead, Cross, Faulkner, Franklin, Fulton, Garland, Greene, Hot Spring, Howard, Independence, Izard, Jackson, Johnson, Lawrence, Logan, Madison, Marion, Monroe, Nevada, Newton, Perry, Pope, Prairie, Pulaski, Randolph, St. Francis, Saline, Scott, Searcy, Sharp, Stone, Van Buren, Washington, White, Woodruff and Yell.

The National Weather Service has predicted that it is expecting more violent weather in the state during this week.
