A former City of Bartlesville employee was ordered to pay almost $4,000 in restitution after pleading guilty to one count of workers’ compensation fraud, according to Attorney General Drew Edmondson.
David Wayne Lindley, 45, pleaded guilty yesterday in Tulsa County District Court after being charged Aug. 8. Lindley, a former Bartlesville Sanitation Department employee, allegedly told his doctor he did not have employment outside his job with the city at the time he injured his back, when, in fact, he also ran a landscaping business.
He was sentenced yesterday to a three-year deferred sentence. Lindley was also ordered to pay $3,859.60 in restitution, a $125 victims’ compensation assessment, a $125 fine and court costs.
Lindley was charged after an investigation by the attorney general’s Workers’ Compensation Fraud Unit. Edmondson’s Workers’ Compensation Fraud Unit has statewide jurisdiction to investigate and prosecute workers’ compensation fraud.
