Travis County District Judge Scott Jenkins ruled that certain information the Texas Department of Information believes supports its claims against Farmers Insurance Group of Companies can be released to the public.
According to Associated Press reports only portions of the evidence Farmers submitted to the state will be revealed, but a Texas Department of Insurance spokesperson indicated that it was a fairly significant portion.
Farmers does have time to protest the decision before the books are opened to the public. Jenkins stayed his decision for 10 days in order to allow Farmers to appeal.
Farmers went to court to keep the information confidential, while the state was ready to release it last month.
