American International Group announced that Shane Fitzsimons is joining the company as global head of Shared Services.
This is a newly created role at AIG that establishes a single point of accountability for key operational and financial capabilities across the organization. Fitzsimons will be responsible for a global strategy to create a cost-effective, scalable infrastructure that leverages technology and innovation.
Fitzsimons joins AIG from TATA Group, where he led efforts to enable synergies across the group’s diverse set of businesses. Fitzsimons joined TATA Group from GE, where he spent 20 years in operational and financial roles across the United States, Asia and Europe. These roles included global head of Shared Services, chief financial officer for all international operations and head of Financial Planning and Analysis across the company.
Fitzsimons will be based in New York and report to Peter Zaffino, AIG’s global chief operating officer and chief executive officer, General Insurance.s.”
