David Govrin has been appointed to the position of executive vice president of underwriting for Third Point Reinsurance (USA) Ltd.
Govrin brings 25 years of experience in the insurance industry to his new role. Prior to joining Third Point Re, Govrin served for the past seven years as vice president for Berkshire Hathaway’s Reinsurance Group, where he was a key member of the underwriting team. Immediately prior to joining Berkshire Hathaway, Govrin founded an insurance private equity fund, Hudson Insurance Capital, focused on specialty insurance underwriting and distribution, as well as a reinsurance intermediary, Sierra Re Advisors. Prior to that, he spent the majority of his career as a senior executive at Goldman Sachs and Guy Carpenter.
