Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. has appointed Walter Grote to the position of commercial insurance field executive.
In this national role, Grote will lead Fireman’s Fund Commercial Insurance operations, including middle market, small business, farm and ranch, property and excess. Grote will be responsible for building relationships with Fireman’s Fund’s agents and brokers among other responsibilities.
Grote joins Fireman’s Fund as the carrier continues to strengthen its commercial insurance management team.
Grote comes to Fireman’s Fund from Travelers Insurance Co. after most recently serving as vice president, Business Insurance – Operating Model. Over his career, he has held a variety of other senior leadership positions within Travelers, including chief underwriting officer and chief operating officer for middle market commercial accounts. He also led the Bond & Financial Products unit within Travelers’ Financial Institutions business.
Grote will be based in the company’s Chicago office and will report to Kathleen O. Zortman, chief field executive for Fireman’s Fund.
