The University of Notre Dame lost a renewed bid for a court order relieving it of having to tell its health insurance plan administrator that it didn’t want to provide coverage that includes contraception under President Barack Obama’s affordable care act.
The U.S. Court of Appeals in Chicago on Friday ruled that the school’s Catholic mission isn’t substantially burdened by the requirement that it fill out a government form stating its objections.
The court said federal law requires the administrator to provide the coverage, meaning the school’s completion of the form doesn’t trigger that result and make it complicit.
