Wells Media Group Inc. has launched a new print publication, Carrier Management Magazine, for property/casualty (P/C) insurance executives.
This magazine launch follows the spring debut of the website, , and its companion daily e-newsletter.
The new quarterly Carrier Management Magazine serves P/C insurance company boards of directors and C-suite officers by providing thought-provoking articles and viewpoints on leadership, innovation, trends, reinsurance, risk models, talent management and more.
Senior Editor Susanne Sclafane, a veteran insurance journalist who joined Wells Media last October, is in charge of the new magazine as well as the website.
According to Sclafane, the premiere issue of the magazine, with two distinctive gold covers, includes articles on leadership by Doug Libby, Chairman & CEO of Crum & Forster; on climate change challenges by Lindene Patton, Chief Climate Product Officer of Zurich Insurance Group; and on Standard & Poor’s new rating model for insurers by Stuart Shipperlee, Analytical Partner of Litmus Analytics.
Carrier Management Magazine’s subscriber list includes 12,000 recipients鈥攁ll members of a carefully selected group of property/casualty insurer CEOs, presidents, senior executives and company board members.
“We’ve spared no expense to create a high-impact medium for both readers and advertisers,” Publisher Mark Wells said. “The final magazine product is visually striking, and from start to finish it is filled with original, incisive, in-depth articles of the quality our online readers have come to expect.”
In addition to being sent to the elite subscriber list, the premiere issue is being distributed at the Rendez-Vous de Septembre in Monte Carlo, the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies meeting in Seattle, the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices conference in San Diego, the Baden-Baden reinsurance meeting in Germany, and the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America gathering in Boston.
Subscribers will receive their premiere issue with text and a logo on the cover to identify it as “Premiere Edition Fall 2013.” Those who receive convention copies, however, will receive only a gold cover with the blue Carrier Management logo. Why have convention copies with no cover text? According to Andrew Simpson, vice president of Content for Wells Media Group: “We want people to be curious about it, open it up, and explore the terrific content. We want them to say, ‘What is Carrier Management?'”
