The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) has named Richard Fischer as its new director of Admissions.
Before joining CAS, Fischer worked in the U. S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs as a psychometric expert to support federal test discrimination enforcement and to be the public face of that enforcement. Prior to public service, he worked with private and non-profit clients on a projects related to applied measurement, test development and validation, licensure and certification, and training and instructional design.
Fischer has served as a consultant and expert witness on numerous test discrimination cases and has authored articles on applied assessment, test discrimination enforcement, and legal defensibility of tests.
The Casualty Actuarial Society advances actuarial science through a focus on research and education for property/casualty actuarial practice. It has 5,700 members from property/casualty insurance, reinsurance, finance, risk management and enterprise risk management.
