Fort Wayne, Ind.-based K&K Insurance Group Inc., a sister company to Affinity Insurance Services Inc. and a managing general underwriter, has announced a new specialty program designed for groups organizing walk or run events.
The Walk/Run Event Program provides liability protection for the organization, including employees and volunteers, for liability claims arising out of its operations. Coverage also includes medical payments for participants on an excess basis.
To qualify for the program, events must meet the following criteria:
- Maximum of 10,000 participants
- Events of three days or less
- Total course distance cannot exceed 16 miles
A variety of limits are offered ranging from $1 million per occurrence with a $5 million aggregate up to $5 million per occurrence with a $5 million aggregate. Rates are based on whether the event is a non-competitive charity walk/run or a competitive (timed) walk or run event. The minimum premium for non-competitive events is $150; the minimum for competitive events is $300. Optional sexual abuse and molestation coverage and ancillary event coverage is also available through this program.
Coverage is offered on an admitted basis and provided through an insurance carrier rated “A+” (Superior) by A.M. Best Co.
