LOMA and the American Institute for CPCU/Insurance Institute of America (AICPCU/IIA) have partnered to offer a new property-casualty concentration in LOMA’s Associate, Customer Service (ACS) professional designation program.
Customer service professionals in P/C insurance can take advantage of LOMA’s course, Foundations of Customer Service. Then they can build on that foundation by taking four AICPCU/IIA courses to complete the ACS designation.
“To date, nearly 56,000 industry professionals have earned the ACS designation and discovered that providing exceptional customer service makes a positive impact on their careers and their company’s bottom line,” said Thomas Donaldson, president and CEO of LOMA. “By partnering with the Institutes to offer a P/C track to the ACS Program, we can help P/C professionals exceed customers’ expectations and keep the industry strong as a whole.”
The ACS property/casualty track consists of three required courses and two electives. In addition to LOMA’s ACS 100鈥擣oundations of Customer Service course, students must take two courses from AICPCU/IIA’s Program in General Insurance: INS 21鈥擯roperty and Liability Insurance Principles LOMA and AICPCU/IIA Partner to Offer P-C Concentration For LOMA’s Associate, Customer Service Designation and either INS 22鈥擯ersonal Insurance or INS 23鈥擟ommercial Insurance.
To satisfy the elective requirement, students must choose two from among the following AICPCU/IIA courses: INS 22 or INS 23 (whichever one was not taken as a required course), IR 201鈥擨nsurance Regulation, AIT 131鈥擡ssentials of Information Technology, AIC 33鈥擳he Claims Environment, AIS 25鈥擠elivering Insurance Services, and ARe 141鈥擯rinciples of Reinsurance.
“The new ACS P/C track will give P/C customer service professionals the needed skills to better manage customer relationships, improve dealings with internal and external customers, and save time and money by anticipating what customers want,” said Terrie Troxel, president and CEO of AICPCU/IIA. “The required INS courses from our Program in General Insurance will give students a solid technical insurance foundation; the elective courses will allow them to tailor the program to best meet their specific career needs.”
